Creative Mobile Technologies had developed an app that connected people directly to NYC yellow taxis. After experimenting with multiple naming tonalities, from the playful–Jalopy, Buggy, and PonyX—to more traffic or auto-themed names like Greenlight and Wheels, we landed on Arrow, a moniker that instantly conveyed speed and efficiency. Once we lopped off the final consonant, it reached its destination.
